Tall Poppy Mgmt Celebrates One Year of Championing Diverse Voices in Aussie Media

Just one year after launching, Tall Poppy Mgmt (TPM) is celebrating a string of impressive achievements, becoming a trailblazer in fostering diversity and representation in the Australian media landscape.

Founded by Mikaela Copland, a 25 year old social media and influencer marketing expert, TPM is an independent influencer marketing and management agency empowering creators from a wide range of backgrounds, including plus-size, neurodivergent, queer, non-binary, and POC individuals.

To mark the milestone, the agency is welcoming its first illustrator and fashion designer to the roster, Ellie Hopley aka @shuturp. As a full-time artist for the past seven years, Hopley thrives at the intersection of their neurodivergent and queer identities. Her artistic journey has captivated a loyal online audience of nearly 200,000.

“We love how Ellie and her art are all things funny, chaotic and relatable - she just felt like a natural fit to the roster” explains Copland.

In its first year, TPM has already made a significant impact:

  • Collaborations with over 50 leading Australian brands, including Levi's, Review, Fayt, Hinge, and Mermade Hair, showcasing the power of their diverse talent roster.

  • Behind the scenes they are working with Tixel as an influencer marketing client.

  • Non-binary model Robert Baxter even walked the runway at Melbourne Fashion Week, a true milestone for inclusivity in the industry.

  • TPM manages one musician, queer pop artist Tom Nethersole, where they organised his first headline show, followed by securing his performance at Midsumma's Pride Street Party and opening for international NZ pop band Drax Project.

  • Talent turned heads at the Melbourne Fashion Festival, dressed by iconic Australian labels Van Heusen and Mimco.

  • Sonny Jane Wise, a neurodivergent author and advocate on TPM's roster, was featured in VICE and delivered impactful workshops on neuro-affirming practices in the workplace for clients like Xero, the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, and VMAIC.

“It's been a whirlwind of a year of just pure hustle and dreams, and I want to thank all my talent and clients who put their faith in me from the very beginning”. says Copland, Founder of Tall Poppy Mgmt.

With a year of successful collaborations under their belt and a deep passion for inclusivity, Tall Poppy Mgmt is positioned to become a powerful force for positive change in Australian media. The agency is actively seeking brands to work with as an influencer marketing specialist for their next campaign, product release, or event launch.
